Anatomy: Head and Neck

MSc Medical Art

Sculpture: Anatomy of Aging

Since studying anti-ageing as a biomedical student, I have always wanted to make the model of Anatomy of Aging.

After taking the Medical Art program, I finally had an opportunity to make the model in Anatomy-Head and neck course, The University of Dundee.

I planned to compare young and old facial features. Therefore, I made the right side represent the young feature, and another side represented the old feature.

Here is the working process though out the project. First, I applied my anatomy knowledge to make muscles for regular facial features. After that,  I researched the differences between old and young facial features, including detail about fat translocation, muscle size change,  hair volume change, fine and thick wrinkles, and melanoma on the skin. Then, I sculped for the old feature to make a visual comparison.
